On Monday August 27, I’ll be singing the music of Peter Hilliard and Matt Boresi at the D-Lounge.
It’s another benefit for New York’s newest, baddest (in a good way), up-and-coming theatre company: The New York Theatre Barn (www.nyTheatreBarn.org)
Peter Hilliard and Matt Boresi are experts in the comic opera genre. Their show, DON IMBROGLIO played to sold out audiences in NYMF 2005. Come hear some songs from their upcoming NYMF show GOIN DOWN SWINGIN’ as Peter and Matt stray from their normal genre into the world of musical theatre (still inspired by Mozart’s Don Giovanni). Peter and Matt have transformed Mozart’s music into 1950’s swing, jazz, blues, and rock. Song selections include:
Let’s Have a Swingin’ Party
Been Done Wrong
He Thrills Me
Howzabout Comin’ to the Window
and Why Don’t We Hold Hands?
Also added to the mix is a very funny Jason Robert Brown spoof called “Look At Me Suffering,” and perhaps one or two more to spice things up a bit.
I will be joined by the very talented Jillian Louis, with Peter Hilliard at the piano (and harmonizing a bit), and perhaps one or two more singers, TBD.
Word on the street is that we may be joined by a few other NYMF shows…
